Regenerative Tourism Startup Business Model “Siam Sisters"
Duration: 1 Week
Team: 7
As part of a university challenge called ‘Startup Week’, my team and I developed a sustainable business model for a regenerative tourism startup in Thailand that we called Siam Sisters (“Siam” means Thailand in Thai). The focus was on creating a sustainable, eco-conscious, safe, and community-driven travel platform for female travelers in Thailand.
My main responsibilities included conceptualizing services, outlining the company’s societal and environmental impacts, and developing a comprehensive marketing and customer retention strategy. I led the design of the report and presentation and represented my team in front of mock investors.
This project served as a great opportunity to practice the skills that I had learned and knowledge gained in international business and marketing within a real-world scenario. I was able to collaborate with my team to develop an innovative business that combined two things valuable to me: travel and issues impacting women. I also gained practice with public speaking and quick-learning as I had only 2 days to practice my presentation and was chosen on the spot to present the pitch.
